Fire Protection by Fire-Resistance Class
Preventive fire protection keeps structures load-bearing in a fire
Steel is strong and versatile, but it loses strength at high temperatures. Preventive fire protection ensures a steel structure holds up long enough in a fire to give people time to escape and emergency services time to act. Husen Stahlbau provides this protection with intumescent coatings that foam up in a fire, form an insulating layer and protect the steel for the required period.
Fire-Resistance Classes R30, R60 and R90
Depending on the building, its use and the applicable building regulations, different fire-resistance durations are required. Husen Stahlbau delivers classes R30, R60 and R90 — a tested fire resistance of 30, 60 or 90 minutes. The required class follows from the fire-protection concept for each project, and Husen Stahlbau implements the matching solution accordingly.
Coating in Our Own Facility
Husen Stahlbau applies the fire protection in its own coating facility, with trained specialists and systems whose suitability is backed by test certificates and approvals. Coating covers individual steel beams and columns as well as complete building frameworks. Because the coating is applied under controlled conditions in the workshop, consistent quality and short turnaround times are assured — regardless of weather or site conditions.
Also for Structures from Other Companies
At Husen Stahlbau, fire-protection coating isn't just part of our own projects — it's a standalone service in its own right. On request, Husen also coats steel structures that weren't fabricated in-house — a service for steel fabricators, construction companies and planners looking for a reliable partner in preventive fire protection.
